Why basketball camp?
After a long professional career working with some of the world’s best players (Dražen Petrović, Toni Kukoč, Nikos Galis, Kruno Simon, Stojko Vranković, and many others) and in top clubs like KK Cibona, Split-KK POP84, Panathinaikos, Baskonia, and others, my desire is to give back to young basketball enthusiasts.
A basketball camp is neither a new nor unfamiliar concept. To me, it seems like the best way to share years of experience and knowledge. I have already organized a similar camp in Japan, which was exceptionally successful. In this camp, special attention will be given to organizing training sessions and discipline on the court, allowing more time to focus on essential aspects such as diverse coordination exercises, dribbling, shooting, and passing techniques. Afternoon training sessions will include competitive elements through various games and basketball matches.
The goal of the camp is also to provide children from the island of Vis with an opportunity to socialize with their peers while having fun and making new friends. Additionally, it aims to reduce the significant impact of technology (mobile phones and laptops) on children’s motor skills, which could affect their health in the future. Camp participants from outside the island of Vis will get to experience the beauty of the island, combining enjoyment with productivity through sports and swimming in the world’s most beautiful sea.
The program, consisting of 12 training sessions over seven days, will be carefully balanced with medium intensity to ensure that all participants can follow and enjoy the training sessions.
Professionally Tailored Programs
Camp Programs
Basic Program 1 for Boys and Girls with Fundamental Skills
- Groups for ages 11–13 and 14–17.
- Groups will be formed not only by age but also based on basketball skills after the introductory training on the first day.
- Camp sessions will be held from June 16. – 22. 2025. and June 23. – 29. 2025.
- Training sessions are scheduled twice a day for 1 hour and 30 minutes each, in the ŠIME PODUJE Sports Hall, Šetalište Viški boj 10, Vis.
- The number of participants per group is LIMITED and depends SOLELY on the order of registration.
- Priority for registration is given to children from the island of Vis.
Beginner's program
It will be held depending on the number of registered children, following a specialized program.
Advanced Training Program (Level UP)
For seniors or talented young players in smaller groups. Arrangements are made individually.

Why Vis?
Anyone who has visited the island of Vis has been captivated by its beauty, the azure sea, and the charming towns of Vis and Komiža. The island boasts stunning beaches, including STINIVA, ranked among the top 10 most beautiful beaches in the world, along with Srebrena, Stončica, Pritišćina, and others.
Vis, one of the gems of the Mediterranean, enjoys an abundance of sunny days, while Komiža is the warmest town in Croatia. All of this, combined with the unique feeling that tourism has not disrupted the island’s authentic spirit, leaves a lasting impression and a desire to return. However, these attributes alone wouldn’t have been enough for me to choose Vis as the location for a Basketball Camp had it not been for the construction of the beautiful new sports hall, ŠIME PODUJE, which provides optimal conditions for children and players.
After discussions with the Mayor of Vis, Mr. Ivo Radica, who supported the idea, and a letter of intent approved by the City of Vis, the organization of the camp could officially begin. I would also like to express my gratitude to Mr. Damir Mumanović, the director of the municipal company, whose enthusiasm gives hope for a successful first year of the camp. The Mayor of Komiza, Ms. Tonka Ivčević, also supported the organization of the camp. Additionally, I extend my thanks to Professor Petar Bezelj, a native of Komiža, whose valuable advice and experience have been indispensable, especially as we share a common history of working together in KK Split (POP84).
The camp is designed for the children of Vis Island, regardless of the fact that the sports hall is located in Vis town.

Why Hotel Issa?
HOTEL ISSA is located on the Prirovo Peninsula, just a ten-minute leisurely walk from the city center. Here, you will find everything you need for a relaxing vacation. Hotel Issa features 128 accommodation units. All rooms have a balcony, satellite TV, a telephone, a shower/WC, and a hairdryer. The rooms are double, offering stunning views of the sea or the park. Most rooms are air-conditioned.
