After long and quite complex preparations and arrangements, the moment finally came for the participants to start arriving and for the camp to begin. With the help of Luka Bujas, everything was ready for the first day of afternoon training. As the old saying goes… every beginning is difficult… but good preparation and, for the first year, a strictly limited number of children (so we could test everything) turned out to be the perfect decision.

Despite a few justified cancellations — school, injuries, and illness — this was the group that completed all trainings with great motivation and desire.

The working principles of the Vis camp are well known: discipline during training, learning basic elements, and perfecting them according to the most important principles of modern basketball. Games, competitions, and basketball fun were also included… because we came here to enjoy ourselves too.

Luka’s experience working with youth and his pedagogical approach added a special touch to the program. The training intensity changed depending on everyone’s fatigue (after three days), but also thanks to the individual approach. This helped us prevent injuries — and there were none in the first week. The training methodology was important from the very start, beginning with warm-ups.

The trip and swimming in the impressive Green Cave were a refreshing break that many will remember. A shared lunch — without phones (for some, that was harder than training!) — gave them the chance to get to know each other better, plan swimming together, or go to the open-air cinema. The youngest participants had a daily schedule with Luka.

The first week passed to the satisfaction of the children, the parents, and all of us who contributed to making everything run as it should.

One of the greatest compliments to the camp is that some participants who were able to stay also joined the training the following week.
